Strahov Monastery
Strahov Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Prague, founded in the 12th century by the Premonstratensian order. It stands near Prague Castle.
The most important part of the complex is the monastery library, with its Baroque halls — the Theological and the Philosophical — holding thousands of historic volumes.
The monastery played an important role in the development of learning and education in Bohemia, and today it is one of Prague's most valuable cultural monuments.
