Hradcany Square
Hradčany Square is a grand square in front of the main entrance to the grounds of Prague Castle. For centuries it has served a ceremonial role and is an important point on the city map.
The square is surrounded by palaces and historic buildings, and its central feature is the gate leading to the castle courtyards. It is here that the ceremonial changing of the guard takes place.
Thanks to its position, the square is a natural starting point for a visit to Prague Castle and one of the most characteristic places in this part of Prague.
