Golden Lane
Golden Lane is a historic lane within Prague Castle, laid out in the 16th century as housing for the castle guards.
Its small, colourful houses set against the fortification walls are one of the most recognisable features of the castle complex. Later, craftsmen lived here, and in the early 20th century so did the writer Franz Kafka.
Today the lane is part of the Prague Castle visitor route and serves as an exhibition, showing the interiors of the historic houses.
