Holesovice
Holešovice is a district of Prague north of the historic centre that in recent years has undergone a significant transformation from an industrial area into a modern space for culture and art.
It was once home to factories, warehouses and a river port. Today many of these buildings have been turned into galleries, exhibition spaces and creative centres, such as DOX — the Centre for Contemporary Art.
Holešovice is also a place of an alternative food scene, markets, events and nightlife. The district is an interesting alternative to the touristy centre and shows a more contemporary face of Prague.
Satori Cities
On a Satori Cities walk, Holesovice is not treated as a box to tick. It is a place to notice daily streets, thresholds, and the city at walking speed, to slow the body down, and to receive the historical context only after perception has done its work.
