10 Romantic Spots in Prague – A City for Two Romantic Prague doesn’t begin with a padlock attached to a bridge. It starts the moment you don’t feel the need to sightsee. Just walk side by side, let the street turn without a plan, and find a place where the city stops posing. 1. Nový Svět at Dawn The low houses and quiet lanes behind Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) are most beautiful before the tour groups arrive. It’s a stroll without major attractions, and that’s exactly why it works. 2. Vrtba Garden The terraced garden offers an intimate view of the Lesser Town’s (Malá Strana) domes. It’s cozy, ticketed, and open seasonally. 3. Kampa After Dusk When the traffic on Charles Bridge (Karlův most) slows down, the Čertovka canal and Kampa Park reclaim their silence. 4. Petřín Beyond the Weekend Afternoon The groves and alleys allow you to step away from the center. It’s best to visit in the morning or just before sunset. 5. Riegrovy Sady The view of Prague Castle is classic, but sitting together on the grass requires no scenery. 6. The Embankment by the Rudolfinum The castle reflects in the river, trams pass behind you, and the city remains close. 7. Strzelecka Island (Slovanský ostrov) A few steps down from the busy bridge leads to the island. The difference in noise is immediate. 8. Vyšehrad The walls, park, and view of the southern stretch of the Vltava create a calmer alternative to the center. 9. An Evening Cruise You don’t need to talk non stop. The city moves past the window or above the deck. You can choose a short Vltava river cruise or a longer option with dinner. 10. Prague in the Shadow of Legends An evening stroll through the Old Town (Staré Město) has a different rhythm than daytime sightseeing. Prague in the Shadow of Legends connects night streets with stories, but doesn’t turn the city into an amusement park. The Best Rule Don’t schedule your romantic day with ten attractions. Choose two places, a good meal, and the path between them. Prague will do the rest. Sources Prague City Tourism: https://prague.eu/ Vrtba Garden: https://www.vrtbovska.cz/
